He is the disciple of Renuka, the destroyer of Rudra. He cuts off the impurities (sins) and protects the wealth. He is the great warrior who has purified his army. He is the son of Rudrani (Renuka) and Dharmaputra (King Harishchandra). |

He is the seed of the kingdom, filled with the blazing fire of destruction. He is like the moon shining on the ocean of the Bhrigu dynasty. He delights the wise with his radiant appearance. |
रक्तोपवीतो रक्ताक्षो रक्तलिप्तो रणोद्धतः । रणत्कुठारो रविभूदण्डायित महाभुजः ॥ ६॥ |
raktopavito raktakso raktalipto ranoddhatah । ranatkutharo ravibhudanḍayita mahabhujah ॥6॥ |
He wears a red sacred thread, has red eyes, and is stained with blood from battles. He is fierce in war and wields the sword, the destroyer of enemies. He has powerful arms that uplift the sun. |
रमानाधधनुर्धारी रमापतिकलामयः । रमालयमहावक्षा रमानुजलसन्मुखः ॥ ७॥ |
ramanadhadhanurdhari ramapatikalamayah । ramalayamahavaksa ramanujalasanmukhah ॥7॥ |
He carries the bow of Lord Rama and is adorned with the garland of Goddess Lakshmi. His broad chest is the abode of Goddess Lakshmi. His face is bright like a lotus. |
रसैकमल्लो रसनाऽविषयोद्दण्ड पौरुषः । रामनामश्रुतिस्रस्तक्षत्रियागर्भसञ्चयः ॥ ८॥ |
rasaikamallo rasana’visayoddanḍa paurusah । ramanamasrutisrastaksatriyagarbhasancayah ॥8॥ |
He is skilled in the art of love. His tongue is the weapon that defeats all sensory pleasures. He is born from the womb of the Kshatriya caste, carrying the glory of the name Rama. |
रोषानलमयाकारो रेणुकापुनराननः । राधेयचातकाम्भोदो रुद्धचापकलापगः ॥ ९॥ |
rosanalamayakaro renukapunarananah । radheyacatakambhodo ruddhacapakalapagah ॥9॥ |
He appears like the fire of anger. He is Renuka’s son born again. He is like a thirsty chataka bird longing for the rain of Radha’s love. He is skilled in the art of shooting arrows. |
राजीवचरणद्वन्द्वचिह्नपूतमहेन्द्रकः । रामचन्द्रन्यस्ततेजा राजशब्दार्धनाशनः ॥ १०॥ |
rajivacaranadvandvacihnaputamahendrakah । ramacandranyastateja rajasabdardhanasanah ॥10॥ |
His two feet resemble the lotus flower and are worshipped by Indra. Lord Rama Chandra has entrusted him with his radiance. He destroys half of the word “Raja” (king) with his prowess. |
राद्धदेवद्विजव्रातो रोहिताश्वाननार्चितः । रोहिताश्वदुराधर्षो रोहिताश्वप्रपावनः ॥ ११॥ |

रजताद्रिगुरुस्थानो रुद्राणीप्रेमभाजनम् । रुद्रभक्तो रौद्रमूर्ती रुद्राधिकपराक्रमः ॥ १३॥ |
rajatadrigurusthano rudranipremabhajanam । rudrabhakto raudramurti rudradhikaparakramah ॥13॥ |
He resides on the silver mountain and is devoted to the worship of Rudrani (Shiva’s consort). He experiences love for Rudrani. He is a devotee of Rudra (Shiva) and possesses the fierce form of Rudra. He excels even Rudra in his valor. |
रविताराचिरस्थायी रक्तदेवर्षिभावनः । रम्यो रम्यगुणो रक्तो रातभक्ताखिलेप्सितः ॥ १४॥ |
ravitaracirasthayi raktadevarsibhavanah । ramyo ramyaguno rakto ratabhaktakhilepsitah ॥14॥ |
He stands firmly like the rising sun. He is the worshipper of the red gods. He is charming, filled with beautiful qualities, and desired by those devoted to night (Ratri Devi). |
रचितस्वर्णसोपानो रन्धिताशयवासनः । रुद्धप्राणादिसञ्चारो राजद्ब्रह्मपदस्थितः ॥ १५॥ |
racitasvarnasopano randhitasayavasanah । ruddhapranadisancaro rajadbrahmapadasthitah ॥15॥ |
He constructs golden staircases and destroys the desires of his enemies. He roams through the kingdom and has mastery over his vital breath. He stands in the divine abode of the king (Brahma). |
रत्नसूनुमहाधीरो रसासुरशिखामणिः । रक्तसिद्धी रम्यतपा राततीर्थाटनो रसी ॥ १६॥ |
ratnasunumahadhiro rasasurasikhamanih । raktasiddhi ramyatapa ratatirthatano rasi ॥16॥ |
He is supremely courageous, the jewel among the demons. He attains perfection through his intense penance. He is charming like the banks of the River Rati (flowing in heaven). |
रचितभ्रातृहननो रक्षितभातृको रणी । राजापहृततातेष्टिधेन्वाहर्ता रसाप्रभुः ॥ १७॥ |

He destroys the enemies of his brothers and protects his own brothers. He snatches away the desires of those who oppose him. He is the lord of sentiments (rasas). |
