बाल समय रवि भक्षी लियो तब,
तीनहुं लोक भयो अंधियारों ।
ताहि सों त्रास भयो जग को,
यह संकट काहु सों जात न टारो ।
देवन आनि करी बिनती तब,
छाड़ी दियो रवि कष्ट निवारो ।
को नहीं जानत है जग में कपि,
संकटमोचन नाम तिहारो ॥ १ ॥
Bal Samay Ravi Bhakhi Liyo Tab,
Teenahu Lok Bhayo Andhiyaro.
Tahi So Traas Bhayo Jag Ko,
Yah Sankat Kahu So Jaat Na Taro.
Devan Aani Kari Binti Tab,
Chhadi Diya Ravi Kasht Nivaro.
Ko Nahi Jaanat Hai Jag Mein Kapi,
Sankatmochan Naam Tiharo.  ॥ 1 ॥
As a child, when you swallowed the sun, all three worlds were enveloped in darkness. The entire universe was terrified, and no one could resolve the crisis. Then, the gods prayed to you and pleaded earnestly. You released the sun, dispelling the suffering. Who in the world does not know you, O Hanuman, as the remover of all obstacles and troubles?
बालि की त्रास कपीस बसैं गिरि,
जात महाप्रभु पंथ निहारो ।
चौंकि महामुनि साप दियो तब,
चाहिए कौन बिचार बिचारो ।
कैद्विज रूप लिवाय महाप्रभु,
सो तुम दास के सोक निवारो ॥ २ ॥
Baali Ki Traas Kapees Basai Giri,
Jaat Mahaprabhu Panth Niharo.
Chauki Mahamuni Saap Diya Tab,
Chahiye Kaun Vichaar Vicharo.
Kai Dwija Roop Livai Mahaprabhu,
So Tum Daas Ke Shok Nivaro.  ॥ 2॥
When Bali’s terror forced Sugriva to reside in the mountains, you guided the great lord (Lord Rama) to Sugriva’s refuge. When the great sage (Muni) cursed Sugriva, you intervened wisely. Transforming into the guise of a Brahmin, you removed the grief of your devoted servant, Sugriva.
अंगद के संग लेन गए सिय,
खोज कपीस यह बैन उचारो ।
जीवत ना बचिहौ हम सो जु,
बिना सुधि लाये इहाँ पगु धारो ।
हेरी थके तट सिन्धु सबै तब,
लाए सिया-सुधि प्राण उबारो ॥ ३ ॥
Angad Ke Sang Lain Gaye Siya,
Khoj Kapees Yah Bain Ucharo.
Jeevat Na Bachihau Hum So Ju,
Bina Sudhi Laye Ihaan Pagu Dharo.
Heri Thake Tat Sindhu Sabai Tab,
Laaye Siya-Sudhi Praan Ubaro.  ॥ 3 ॥
Accompanying Angad, you set out to search for Sita. King Sugriva declared that none should return alive without Sita’s news. When all the monkeys grew tired upon reaching the shore of the ocean, you went forward, found Sita, and brought back the news, saving their lives and mission.
रावण त्रास दई सिय को सब,
राक्षसी सों कही सोक निवारो ।
ताहि समय हनुमान महाप्रभु,
जाए महा रजनीचर मारो ।
चाहत सीय असोक सों आगि सु,
दै प्रभुमुद्रिका सोक निवारो ॥ ४ ॥
Raavan Traas Dai Siya Ko Sab,
Raakshasi So Kahi Shok Nivaro.
Tahi Samay Hanuman Mahaprabhu,
Jaaye Maha Rajnicher Maro.
Chaahat Siya Ashok So Aag Su,
Dai Prabhu Mudrika Shok Nivaro.  ॥ 4 ॥
When Sita was tormented by Ravana and harassed by demonesses, you comforted her and removed her sorrow. At that time, O mighty Hanuman, you destroyed the mighty demons. You delivered Lord Rama’s ring to Sita in Ashoka Vatika, alleviating her grief and giving her hope.
बान लग्यो उर लछिमन के तब,
प्राण तजे सुत रावन मारो ।
लै गृह बैद्य सुषेन समेत,
तबै गिरि द्रोण सु बीर उपारो ।
आनि सजीवन हाथ दई तब,
लछिमन के तुम प्रान उबारो ॥ ५ ॥
Baan Lagyo Ur Lakshiman Ke Tab,
Praan Taje Sut Raavan Maro.
Lai Grih Vaidya Sushen Samet,
Tabai Giri Dron Su Veer Uparo.
Aani Sajeevan Haath Dai Tab,
Lakshiman Ke Tum Praan Ubaro.  ॥ 5 ॥
When Lakshmana was struck by an arrow and fell unconscious during the battle, you defeated Ravana’s son and brought the renowned physician Sushena along with the Sanjivani herb. By delivering the life-saving herb, you revived Lakshmana and saved his life.
रावन युद्ध अजान कियो तब,
नाग कि फाँस सबै सिर डारो ।
श्रीरघुनाथ समेत सबै दल,
मोह भयो यह संकट भारो I
आनि खगेस तबै हनुमान जु,
बंधन काटि सुत्रास निवारो ॥ ६ ॥
Raavan Yudh Ajaan Kiyo Tab,
Naag Ki Phaans Sabai Sir Daro.
Shri Raghunath Samet Sabai Dal,
Moh Bhayo Yah Sankat Bharo.
Aani Khages Tabai Hanuman Ju,
Bandhan Kaati Sutraas Nivaro.  ॥ 6 ॥
When Ravana cast the deadly serpent noose on Lord Rama and his army, everyone was immobilized and overcome by distress. At that moment, you brought Garuda (the king of birds), who freed them from the serpent’s bond and dispelled the danger.
बंधु समेत जबै अहिरावन,
लै रघुनाथ पताल सिधारो ।
देबिहिं पूजि भलि विधि सों बलि,
देउ सबै मिलि मन्त्र विचारो ।
जाय सहाय भयो तब ही,
अहिरावन सैन्य समेत संहारो ॥ ७ ॥
Bandhu Samet Jabai Ahiraavan,
Lai Raghunath Pataal Sidhaaro.
Devahi Pooji Bhali Vidhi So Bali,
Deu Sabai Mili Mantra Vicharo.
Jaaye Sahay Bhayo Tab Hi,
Ahiraavan Sainya Samet Sanhaaro.  ॥ 7॥
When Ahiravana, along with his kin, abducted Lord Rama to the netherworld (Patal Lok), you intervened. As Ahiravana prepared to sacrifice the Lord to his deities, you arrived and, with your immense power, destroyed Ahiravana and his army, rescuing Lord Rama.
काज किये बड़ देवन के तुम,
बीर महाप्रभु देखि बिचारो ।
कौन सो संकट मोर गरीब को,
जो तुमसे नहिं जात है टारो ।
बेगि हरो हनुमान महाप्रभु,
जो कछु संकट होय हमारो ॥ ८ ॥
Kaaj Kiye Bad Devan Ke Tum,
Veer Mahaprabhu Dekhi Vicharo.
Kaun So Sankat Mor Gareeb Ko,
Jo Tumse Nahi Jaat Hai Taro.
Begi Haro Hanuman Mahaprabhu,
Jo Kachhu Sankat Hoy Hamaro.  ॥ 8 ॥
You have accomplished great deeds for the gods and proven your bravery, O mighty Hanuman. Consider this poor devotee’s plight: Is there any trouble that you cannot remove? Please, O Hanuman, quickly eliminate any obstacles or troubles in my life.

लाल देह लाली लसे,
अरु धरि लाल लंगूर ।
वज्र देह दानव दलन,
जय जय जय कपि सूर ॥

Aru Dhari Lal Langoor.

Jai Jai Jai Kapi Soor.
Your red body radiates a divine glow, and you hold a red-colored tail. Your body is as strong as a thunderbolt, and you destroy the armies of demons. Glory, glory, glory to you, O valiant monkey hero!
