Ganesh Pratah Smaran Stotram: Invoking the Divine Blessings of Lord Ganesh in the Morning

प्रात: स्मरामि गणनाथमनाथबन्धुं
सिन्दूरपूरपरिशोभितगण्डयुग्मम् ।
उद्दण्डविघ्नपरिखण्डनचण्डदण्ड –
माखण्डलादिसुरनायकवृन्दवन्द्यम् ।।1।।
Pratah smarami gananatham anatha bandhum
Sindurapura parishobhita gandayugmam
Uddanda vighnaparikhandana chandadandam
Akhandaladi suranayankavrunda vandyam. 1
In the early morning, I remember Ganapati, the lord of the Ganas (attendants of Lord Shiva) and the brother of Manmatha (the god of love). His two cheeks are adorned with bright vermilion marks. He is the one who destroys all obstacles like a powerful staff. He is worshipped by the assembly of celestial beings led by Indra, the chief of gods.
प्रातर्नमामि चतुराननवन्द्यमान –
मिच्छानुकूलमखिलं च वरं ददानम् ।
तं तुन्दिलं द्विरसनाधिपयज्ञसूत्रं
पुत्रं विलासचतुरं शिवयो: शिवाय ।।2।।
Pratarnamami chaturanana vandyamanam
icchanukulam akhilam cha varam dadanam
tam tundilam dvirasanadhipa yagnasutram
putram vilasachaturam shivayoh shivaya. 2
In the morning, I bow down to the four-faced one (Ganesha), who is worthy of worship. May he grant us the desired fulfillment and bestow upon us all types of boons. He is the one who holds a tusk, the ruler of two attires (Heaven and Earth), and the son of Shiva who is delighted in playing.
प्रातर्भजाम्यभयदं खलु भक्तशोकदावानलं
गणविभुं वरकुण्जरास्यम् ।
अज्ञानकाननविनाशनहव्यवाह-
मुत्साहवर्धनमहं सुतमीश्वरस्य ।।3।।
Pratar bhajamya bhayadam khalu bhaktashoka
davanalam ganavibhum varakunjarasyam
agnanakanana vinashanahavyavaham
utsahavardhananmaham sutamishvarasaya. 3
In the morning, I adore the one who destroys the fear of the wicked, who is like the fire that burns away the sorrows of devotees, and who is the lord of the group of Ganas. He is like a splendid elephant, bestowing blessings. He increases the enthusiasm and destroys the forest of ignorance. I am the son of Ishvara (Lord Shiva).
श्लोकत्रयमिदं पुण्यं सदा साम्राज्यदायकम् ।।
प्रातरुत्थाय सततं य: पठेत्प्रयत: पुमान् ।।
Shloka trayamidam punyam sada samrajyadayakam
pratarutthaya satatam yah pathet prayatah puman
These three verses, always bestowing auspiciousness and granting sovereignty, if a person diligently recites every morning after waking up.
